Long‑term contract (initially 6 months with expected extensions)
A Senior Planning Engineer is required to join a Civils contractor in Fort Augustus on a long‑term contract. It is initially 6 months with expected contract extensions, so there will be long‑term opportunities for the right candidate. This is working on a very complex project requiring someone with OHL (Overhead Line) knowledge to be able to have great interaction with construction and project directors.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
* Experience managing projects valued at a total of £500m+.
* Great communication skills in order to have great interaction with construction and project directors.
* Experience planning large valued projects on behalf of a contractor (purely project controls or client-side experience will not be right).
* Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Excel (with the ability to demonstrate practical P6 skills during interview).
* Have demonstrable experience in delivering projects from initiation to completion.
* The ability to articulate how they manage progress updates and monthly reporting cycles.
* Capability in evaluating programmes, including identifying and managing the critical path and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
* Managing subcontractor programmes.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills – as the role involves engagement with multiple stakeholders and is client-facing.
* The ability to mentor and support junior planners.
* A record of stable employment with a previous organisation is desirable.
