A leading games publisher is searching for a Head of Game Scouting to join their Senior Leadership Team. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive the discovery and acquisition of commercially promising indie titles, using your strategic insight and market knowledge to deliver the next generation of standout games.
You'll be the driving force behind scouting strategies - evaluating game quality, negotiating acquisition terms, and building relationships with developers and industry influencers. This is your opportunity to take a leadership role in shaping a portfolio that defines the company’s future.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the scouting and evaluation of indie games for publishing, assessing game quality, commercial potential, and market fit.
* Negotiate acquisition terms and publishing agreements, leveraging your knowledge of contracts and deal structures.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with game developers, studios, and key industry contacts.
* Collaborate with internal departments across marketing, production, and commercial to ensure alignment with publishing goals.
* Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform acquisition strategies.
* Present scouting reports and acquisition proposals to senior stakeholders.
* Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Game Scouts to enhance scouting processes and output.
* Champion and evangelise the publisher’s offerings across the industry and at key events.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience in game scouting, partnerships, or business development within the games industry.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills with a track record of closing successful game deals.
* Deep understanding of the video games market, with the ability to spot potential in early-stage projects.
* Strategic mindset with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
* A passionate leader who can inspire both their team and the wider business.
* Existing network within the indie development scene is highly desirable.
