We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Community Engagement Network Lead to work within our integrated Healthy Lifestyle Service, as an integral part of our Staffordshire service. The ideal candidate will be required to work in the East Staffordshire area, primarily Burton-on-Trent and Uttoxeter. You would need to have a driving licence, access to a car and be open to travel and support teams throughout the county as required.
This role will be responsible for empowering the community to access our services through making and maintaining strong community links, through helping other agencies understand the role of the service and through community outreach and engagement activities. The key functions of the role are:
Our Community Engagement Network Lead will work to build community capacity to implement our service goals through resident and cross community engagement that is participatory, inclusive, deliberative, and collaborative.
The postholder will:
* Manage a small team of practitioners and oversee sickness and annual leave.
* Work to participate in all community networks of relevance, developing trusted partnerships with relevant stakeholders to increase referrals into all services.
* Organise and facilitate promotional events.
* Deliver Making Every Contact Count (MECC), raising awareness of the service and ensuring the service can reach the residents who might benefit from it.
* Deliver MECC Train the Trainer sessions to enable others to deliver MECC training.
* Deliver NHS Health Checks.
* Engage with existing organisations across the public, private and charitable sectors to embed the service.
The successful candidate will:
* Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Possess a minimum of 1 year experience working in a community-based service.
* Be experienced in using behaviour change models within a work context.
* Be flexible with good time management and planning skills.
* Be interested in motivating and supporting both individuals and groups in community-based settings.
* Can raise public awareness and provision of consistent healthy lifestyle messaging on issues relevant to the health of the community and in a multi-cultural setting.
* Have experience in building strong links and relationships with a diverse range of groups, organisations and agencies.
* Are able to talk confidently to diverse groups and individuals, maintaining key messages.
* Have experience of community outreach and engagement.
* Experience of using social media platforms to promote services.

Job Description
Community Engagement Network Lead
Main Purpose
To provide a critical role as Community Engagement Network Lead within Staffordshire’s Healthy Communities Service. This post will have four main components:
* Community Networking and building partnerships
* Service promotion and establishing referral pathways
* MECC delivery
* NHS Health Check Delivery
These elements will require the post holder to:
* Support the Deputy Service Manager to develop and coordinate a community engagement strategy, including arranging and facilitating events and targeting specific groups, particularly those in areas of greatest need, to tackle inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to develop healthier behaviour and lifestyle choices.
* Support the Deputy Service Manager with monitoring and delivering the throughput for all services, ensuring all referrals are of a high standard.
* Lead a small team of practitioners in your area, managing annual leave, sick leave, and expenses.
* Connect and liaise with local providers, organisations, clubs, and services to enhance local knowledge and promote sustainability of local resources and communities.
* Identify and investigate opportunities when working in the community to support service promotion including local events, media, community talks, etc.
* Ensure the service is integrated within a range of different partners/key stakeholders, to ensure the service is delivered proportionate to need and encompassed by strong entry and exit routes, reflective of the local third sector and wider agencies.
* Deliver / support Making Every Contact Count training and Brief Intervention sessions within the Staffordshire Competency Framework. Act as key link on MECC with organisations across Staffordshire to raise awareness of the services and ensure knowledge of the services can reach the residents who might benefit from it.
* Deliver NHS Health Checks as and when needed.
* Support the local health and wellbeing infrastructure, contributing toward District, Borough and countywide meetings, enhancing local networks and agendas to ensure cohesive service delivery in line with existing services.
Summary of responsibilities and duties
* Engage with existing organisations across the public, private and charitable sectors to embed the service and increase referrals to the service.
* Work cohesively with the local Districts, Boroughs and CCGs to enhance relationships and strengthen locality awareness within delivery teams.
* Build strong relationships to support the contract to establish strong referral networks, working with a range of partners including community organisations, workplace settings and voluntary sector to promote and embed the service, referrals and service benefits to health within settings.
* Map the local area to support the multi-disciplinary teams with their supportive offer, ensuring it is embedded within sustainable services local and accessible to individuals.
* Coordinate opportunities for Tier 1 service delivery, taking into account need, demand and proportionality in line with outcome measures assigned within the contract.
* Represent the service with a professional attitude at all times, building strong, meaningful and productive relationships with partners.
* Support the delivery team by opening doors for delivery opportunities across the county.
* Support the Deputy Service Manager and Marketing and Communications Teams, utilising social marketing principles and market segmentation tools to inform engagement strategies.
* Adopt collaborative approaches to engagement, maximising community asset-based approaches for significant community engagement, identifying and developing opportunities for collaboration with other organisations and wider community development activity.
* Support the service to achieve contractual performance indicators, demonstrating a wide range of community engagement methodologies at all times.
* Support the service’s volunteer engagement strategy.
* Keep accurate records and written reports, ensuring community development activity is recorded accurately to ensure effective CRM.
* Be compliant with all relevant policies, procedures and guidelines; including the appropriate codes of conduct; maintain safeguarding awareness and report concerns in line with Everyone Health and Local Authority policies and procedures.
* Take responsibility for own CPD and participate in Everyone Health’s induction, training and continual professional development as required; work within own competence and professional code of conduct as regulated by professional body.
* Prioritise, organise and manage own workload to maintain high quality.
* Lead in the evaluation of partner relations to ensure collaborative approaches are embraced in relation to service development and effectiveness of care.

* Operational capability to plan, attend and run successful meetings and events.
2. Knowledge
* Knowledge of relevant community development, health and social policy.
* Knowledge of populations who experience social anxiety or isolation and effects on health.

* Knowledge of good communications and engagement practice and translating practice into solutions.

* Understanding of health inequalities and approaches to tackle them.
3. Experience
* Minimum of 1 year experience in a community-based service or Public Health.
* Experience or strong interest in delivering health and wellbeing services.
* Knowledge of key health messages around healthy lifestyle, mental wellbeing and risk factors: smoking cessation, diet, physical activity, weight management, alcohol.
* Building strong links with diverse groups, organisations and agencies.
* Liaison with interested groups and individuals to set up new services.
* Planning, attending and coordinating meetings and events; encouraging participation; managing workload; using software systems to document and evidence work.
4. Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience.
5. Special Conditions
* Highly motivated self-starter with resilience and determination to complete assignments.
* Role includes evening/weekend work and variable travel across Staffordshire, in community settings.
* Full driving license and access to a business-insured car for work.
* Commitment to continuing professional development and to maintaining up-to-date professional knowledge.
