I am looking to recruit a Port systems specialist to join a global leader in the trade and logistics sector, based in the heart of Southampton. You will be working for apany that expedites and simplifies the import/export process through innovative technology solutions. The role is hybrid, with an expectation of three days in the office per week in Southampton. Therefore, you will need to be based within amutable distance.
Your new role
1. Gather user requirements and translate them into Terminal Operating System (TOS) specifications.
2. Ensure business applications are scalable and future-ready during project execution.
3. Implement projects within defined scope, time, and budget.
4. Configure business applications for container terminal equipment deployment andmissioning.
5. Provide daily operational support for TOS, including maintenance and administration.
6. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, training, and support.
7. Deliver training to TOS users, including remote sessions.
8. Support the Operations team in identifying performance trends and improvement opportunities.
9. Enhance terminal operating systems for users in collaboration with the IT TOS team.
10. Identify TOS gaps and design solutions to meet business needs.
11. Provide 1st and 2nd line support for TOS-related issues.
What you'll need to succeed
12. You should have proven experience in Port Operations, Logistics, or Distribution.
13. Familiarity with terminal operating systems such as (Zodiac and Navis - Desirable)
14. Knowledge of statistics and data manipulation to identify root causes.
15. Ability to convert operational requirements into clear business processes.
16. Experience with Business Process Modelling.
17. You'll be skilled in developing, implementing and executing test plans, evaluating change impacts and creating training materials.
18. Demonstrable experience managingplex system projects using project management and ticketing tools.
19. Experience with system project go-lives and providing frontline support.
20. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio).
21. Practical application of project coordination with associated qualifications, such as Prince2 (desirable).
