Lead an Award-Winning Specialist Team
Are you a Service Manager or Workshop Manager ready to step out of the corporate dealership grind and into a world of pure automotive passion? This high-end independent specialist in Medway doesn't just "service cars"—they are Ferrari, Aston Martins, and more. From building bespoke race cars to restoring high-end classics, they maintain modern supercars to 3-time "Ferrari Race Car Preparer of the Year" standards.
The Opportunity: The owner is looking to step back from the daily workshop management to focus on car sourcing, sales, and the broader growth of the company. This creates a unique opening for a high-caliber Service Manager or Workshop Manager to take the reins. You won't just be an employee; you'll be the person running the day-to-day operation of one of the UK's most respected specialist garages.
The Role: Complete Operational Ownership
This is a "Front of House" leadership role where you act as the vital link between an elite technical team and enthusiast clients. You will have the autonomy to make this role your own, ensuring the garage runs with the precision that world-class machinery deserves:
* Operational Leadership: Managing the daily workflow, job cards, and ramp efficiency for a highly skilled technical team.
* Specialist Front of House: Dealing with a loyal customer base of collectors and racers. You'll be the one they trust to explain a complex engine rebuild or high-spec race prep.
* Parts & Logistics: Sourcing and ordering high-performance components for everything from classic supercar restorations to modern track-ready builds.
* Invoicing & Finance: Handling the end-to-end invoicing process for customers. You will ensure all parts and labor are accurately billed and that every "once-in-a-lifetime" car leaves with a perfectly documented history.
* Business Management: Overseeing workshop administration, ensuring the paper trail is as high-quality as the mechanical work.
Why This Is the Move for You:
* Total Autonomy: The owner is handing over the keys to the daily operation. This is your chance to implement your own processes and truly run the show.
* High-End Content: You aren't managing brake pads on hatchbacks. You're overseeing bespoke race-spec builds and maintenance on some of the world's finest machinery.
* No Weekends: While the team is active at the track on weekends, your management role is strictly Monday to Friday.
* Culture over Corporate: No "up-selling" targets, no cold-calling, and no HR red tape. Just high-end engineering and a team that takes immense pride in their craft.
Who You Are:
This role is perfect for an experienced Service Manager, Workshop Manager, or Workshop Controller who is technically minded and ready for a role with more impact.
* Highly Organized: You can juggle parts orders, customer invoicing, and timelines for multiple high-spec projects without breaking a sweat.
* Technically Credible: You understand performance cars. You can "talk shop" with master techs and translate that into professional, clear advice for our customers.
* A Natural Leader: You enjoy the challenge of keeping a specialist workshop on schedule and ensuring the billing and administration are flawless.
* Ambition: You want a role where your impact is visible and where you can grow alongside a thriving independent business.
The Package:
* £38,000 – £42,000 basic (negotiable based on your experience and "know-how").
* Monday – Friday only.
* Environment: A clean, high-spec, and exciting workshop in the heart of Kent's performance scene.
