Role Overview
This secondary school is seeking a Music Teacher who can deliver a broad, inclusive, and well‑sequenced music curriculum across KS3 and KS4. Music is valued as both an academic subject and a creative outlet, and the successful candidate will play a key role in developing students’ technical skills, confidence, and musical understanding.
You will teach classroom‑based music lessons as well as practical performance elements, working with students of mixed musical experience and ability.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Music across KS3 and KS4
Deliver lessons covering composition, performance, listening, and appraisal
Introduce students to a range of musical styles, genres, and traditions
Support students with GCSE Music coursework and practical components
Plan lessons that build musical skills progressively
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Manage classroom resources and instruments effectively
Promote participation, confidence, and collaboration
Maintain a calm, structured learning environment
Skills and Experience Required
Experience teaching Music at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge across theory and practical music
Ability to support both beginner and advanced students
Confident classroom and behaviour management
Organised approach to planning and assessment
