Role: Credit Controller (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Location: Edinburgh
We are looking for a Credit Controller to join our Finance Team, based at our Head Office in Edinburgh. You will play a key role within the Accounts Receivable function, managing your own debtor ledger and supporting the wider business with cash collection, customer account management and credit control administration.
This is a fast paced role where organisation, communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
Job Activities:
1. Manage your own debtor ledger and ensure overdue balances are collected in a timely manner
2. Place customer accounts on and off stop where required
3. Carry out debt chasing through phone calls, emails and letters
4. Set up and manage payment plans with customers
5. Work closely with assigned Account Managers to support cash collection
6. Record and allocate incoming customer payments accurately
7. Request customer remittances where required
8. Set up new customer accounts and carry out credit checks
9. Monitor and manage unallocated payments
10. Manage customer queries and liaise with the billing team to ensure timely resolution
11. Support accounts in debt recovery
12. Manage customer tickets, live chats and telephone queries within agreed KPI targets
13. Lodge cheque and cash payments and support banking transactions
14. Attend weekly meetings with the Accounts Receivable Manager and Account Managers
15. Support the wider team with inbox management and ad hoc finance administration tasks
16. Ensure all credit control procedures and departmental SLA’s are followed
Knowledge and Skills Required:
17. Previous experience within a Credit Control, Finance or Accounts role
18. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
19. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
20. Ability to work to targets and deadlines
21. High level of numeracy and attention to detail
22. Flexible and adaptable approach within a busy environment
23. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel
24. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics or accounting software would be beneficial
25. Ability to multitask and manage a variety of tasks at once
