Head of International Sales – Premium Food Brand


Location: Remote (UK-based, occasional travel to South East office and International Travel)


* £70,000 – £80,000 Basic Salary

Its products hold a unique position within the category, delivering differentiation in a market often driven by commoditisation.


With established distribution across North America, Europe, and parts of Asia, the brand is now entering a pivotal phase of expansion — focused on accelerating international growth, unlocking new territories, and strengthening in-market execution through best-in-class distributor partnerships.


ROLE OVERVIEW:


As Head of International Sales, you will take full ownership of the brand’s international distributor network and global route-to-market strategy. This is a high-impact, outward-facing commercial leadership role combining strategic expansion with hands-on relationship management.


The remit is approximately 60% new business development and 40% account management, requiring someone who thrives on hunting new opportunities while maximising value from existing partnerships.


You will manage established distributor relationships across key markets including the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Germany, and other major European territories - while proactively targeting high-potential new markets such as Japan and beyond.


This role requires a deep understanding of how international distributors operate across both retail and foodservice. Success will depend on your ability to drive pull-through in market, influence key stakeholders, protect brand positioning, and improve distribution depth and margin performance.


You will be a true brand ambassador - comfortable travelling internationally, supporting customer meetings, unlocking new retail listings, engaging foodservice operators, and ensuring the brand is executed to the highest standard globally.

* Lead and develop international distributor partnerships across 25+ markets
* Identify, negotiate and onboard new distribution partners in untapped territories
* Build clear market entry and expansion strategies to drive sustainable growth
* Maximise distribution, visibility, and margin performance within existing accounts
* Drive retail and foodservice pull-through alongside distributor partners
* Deliver robust annual sales plans, forecasts, and commercial targets
* Monitor performance, pricing structures, trade investment and ROI
* Work cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain and leadership to align on global strategy
* Represent the brand internationally through regular market visits


REQUIREMENTS:


* Proven experience in International Sales within branded FMCG
* Strong track record of managing and growing distributor partnerships
* Clear understanding of how distributors operate across retail and foodservice
* A hunter mentality with evidence of opening new markets or winning new international business
* Experience within food is highly desirable, although other branded FMCG categories will be considered
* Commercially astute with strong negotiation and influencing capability
* Highly driven, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating autonomously
* Willingness to travel internationally
