Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this key position is to provide managerial and administrative support services to the Office of the Regional Director, Eastern Shore Region. The Regional Director manages nine community services offices located in the nine counties of the Eastern Shore. This position operates directly as the personal and confidential associate to the Regional Director who is the chief executive for the Eastern Shore Region. This position also oversees the Eastern Shore Region restitution services as well as provides supervision for the restitution clerk. Flexibility for multi-tasking, inventiveness in problem solving, independent, and being able to represent the Regional Director’s direction in matters of personnel, budget, etc. are critical.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.
Notes:
1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration or Personnel Specialist classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Special Assistant or Secretarial fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
·At least two years of experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and/or Google Workspace;
·At least two years of experience working for a senior-level administrator or executive;
·At least two years supervising staff;
·Knowledge of, or experience with, the Restitution Tracking System;
·Experience with budgets and procurement;
·Strong written and oral communication skills;
·Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively;
·Ability to demonstrate teamwork;
·Flexibility in a busy environment;
·Strong time management, priority setting, and problem-solving skills.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.
