Omega are supporting well-established building services contractor, in Wakefield, in their search for a skilled AutoCAD Technician. The successful AutoCAD Technician will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. This is a full-time, office-based role requiring strong CAD expertise, accuracy, and the ability to work within deadlines.
Key Responsibilities - AutoCAD Technician
Produce 2D AutoCAD drawings for mechanical and electrical building services, including HVAC layouts, plumbing schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
Interpret engineer's designs, sketches, and specifications into accurate CAD drawings.
Maintain drawing standards, layering conventions, and file management procedures.
Revise and update drawings based on mark-ups and feedback from engineers and project managers.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, technical standards, and company quality procedures.
Liaise with design engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to clarify technical details.
Support the project team with technical information and accurate drawing outputs.
Manage workloads effectively to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications & Requirements - AutoCAD Technician
Proficient in AutoCAD with demonstrable experience in building services (HVAC, plumbing, and electrical).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drafting.
Understanding of building services systems and layouts.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
