We're looking for an experienced course designer to join our high-profile project team. Specializing in Defence fire rescue, this important role will have a big impact as you design and develop both new and existing training courseware. You'll need knowledge of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and, ideally, you'll have worked on or understand the Defence Fire Rescue (DFR) Program. What you'll be doing: Designing and developing courses to meet customer requirements in alignment with DSAT. Maintaining DSAT course documentation in line with maintenance schedules. Implementing the design methodology, providing a specialist resource for the routine review, re-design and improvement of existing courses, together with the design of training to meet new or changed requirements. Operating to Capita's standards in all elements of governance and reporting. Supporting the design, development and maintenance of the Learning Management System. Maintaining awareness and ensuring adherence to Defence, regulatory and industry standards. Conforming to awarding body requirements, such as ISO and SFJ. Collaborating with SMEs, instructors, and Defence stakeholders to ensure course content meets operational and strategic training needs. Contributing to the evolution of blended and digital learning strategies, ensuring alignment with Defence digital transformation goals. Design and implement evaluation strategies to measure training effectiveness and inform continuous improvement. What we're looking for: A training requirements, design and delivery professional with prior knowledge and experience of managing training design within Defence, in accordance with JSP 822. Ideally (but not essential) knowledge of, or experience in, operating within the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT). Recognised training design qualification, having ideally completed the Detailed Course Design course at DCTS, and/or demonstrable experience of conducting training design within a safety critical and regulated environment. Conversant with Moodle. Experience in using courseware authoring software such as H5P, Articulate and Microsoft suite. Strong planning and organisation skills to ensure design activities are completed within agreed deadlines.
