Project Manager Chelmsford, Essex Full time, Permanent position Salary: Negotiable depending on experience Our welcoming Client is has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who will take the lead on site to ensure the efficient execution of a Project for the Business. To lead our Client's site-based team, manage the key site relationships, deliver the project to the agreed budgets, programme, and to the required standards of Health, Safety and Quality. Ensure any legal, contractual and company policy requirements are met. Reporting to the Contracts Manager / Project Director regularly and succinctly, to ensure they are abreast of all matters relating to the efficient progress of the Project on cost, time and HSQ. Main responsibilities of the role include: •Reporting to the Contracts Manager / Project Director regularly and succinctly, to ensure they are abreast of all matters relating to the efficient progress of the Project on cost, time and HSQ. •Consistent interaction with all members of the on and offsite team, including procurement, design and commercial, raising issues efficiently to ensure that they are dealt with quickly to minimise disruption and cost. •Responsible to deliver the scope works on site to the required standard of health, safety, and quality. •To be proactive and agile in decision making to reduce risk and to deal with issues that do arise quickly to mitigate their impact. •To be open to ideas and data, and to be able to adapt an approach to ensure improvements are made and opportunities taken. •Produce risk assessments and method statements that are comprehensive, practical, and clear for the operatives undertaking the work. To update these as the works evolve so that risk continues to be removed and / or mitigated. •The production of detailed area programmes and work plans with resource requirements to meet the Contract programme. •The efficient management and control of materials off, on and to site, to ensure the delivery of the Project to the Contract programme. •The leadership, management, and coordination of the CLL site team and site resources, such that their roles and responsibilities are clear and that they are held to account against them. •Attendance at meetings with our own team, our Employer, and our Sub-contractors, and to ensure records of these meetings with actions are kept. •Plan to avoid non efficient working and if it is required validate the hours expended for record purposes. •Management of site costs against budgets including installation, plant, consumables, transport, site testing and to minimise costs associated with snagging. •Highlighting and keeping records of inefficiency for matters outside of our control and as a result of our own failings. •Responsible for consistent progress reporting and record keeping required to meet the Companies legal and contractual obligations, and to protect the business. •Development and implementation of an effective Project Quality plan. •Regular factory visits and testing; meeting with sub-contractors to discuss and report on their quality, programme; look to maintain good supplier relationships throughout the Contract. •Arrange site inspection visits with suppliers and architects as part of ITP inspections. Skills and Experience• To understand the broader aspirations of the business and recognise the influence that the successful delivery of the project will have on them. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Project Management role Experience working as a line manager to site supervisors, and as a manager overseeing trade subcontractors. The ability to understand and measure risk in construction activities, and to be able to develop and implement measures and plans to remove completely or mitigate. The implementation and management of an effective Quality plan in the successful delivery of a Project. Management level CSCS card. SMSTS. NVQ 4 or equivalent.
