About Us:
The Goldhill Learning Foundation is a new independent special school offering bespoke education to children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We pride ourselves on our nurturing, individualised approach and are committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive both academically and emotionally.
We are currently seeking a passionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will support pupils in a class of 5 with a range of communication and interaction needs, working collaboratively with teachers and wider staff to meet the diverse learning, care and wellbeing needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build warm, caring, and supportive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
* Encourage and support independence and personal development, promoting positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
* Assist teaching staff in delivering high-quality, differentiated learning activities across a broad and balanced curriculum.
* Respond flexibly to the needs of the day, supporting the smooth running of the school.
* Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical, and spiritual development.
* Stay informed on current approaches and best practices in SEND, especially relating to autism and other neurodivergent profiles.
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
* Experience supporting pupils with SEN, including ASD, SLD.
* Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
* Skilled in supporting pupils with a range of behavioural needs, including behaviours that challenge.
* Knowledge of or willingness to learn the National Curriculum and adapt learning appropriately.
* Prior experience in an educational or special school setting is advantageous but not essential.
