Listening and Speaking – Intermediate Level
Be able to hold a conversation on a number of diverse topics on a daily basis, and discuss cases related to the field of work. Be able to follow a discussion in Welsh, in Clear Welsh, on familiar issues relating to the job. Be able to contribute to the conversation and answer questions.
Reading and Comprehension – Intermediate Level
Understand everyday correspondence on familiar issues at work. Understand longer reports in Clear Welsh and be able to pick up the main points.
Writing – Intermediate Level
Be able to write specific purpose letters, emails and short reports through the medium of Welsh and English using vocabulary and simple phrases familiar to the field of work.
Job Description
Purpose of the Post
* Receive experience and support in the workplace to complete an apprenticeship and gain qualifications in the field
* The apprentice will provide a digital marketing and engagement service to improve awareness and recycling behaviour among residents and promote the Commercial Waste Service to local businesses
Responsibility for Resources
* None, except for normal office equipment, e.g. computer
Main Duties
* The main purpose of the service is to effectively collect and recycle all waste streams, engaging with residents and businesses to increase recycling and meet a statutory target of 70%
* The Digital Marketing Apprentice role is a great opportunity for a creative apprentice to develop digital marketing skills by creating content and campaigns that inspire Gwynedd residents and businesses to recycle more and engage better with our services.
* The main duties of the role will be to:
o Support work to increase visibility and engagement around recycling across social media channels.
o Create and share regular content that promotes recycling messages and raises awareness among residents.
o Effectively communicate with the public about any problems or delays in waste collection.
o Support the marketing of the Commercial Waste Service to local businesses by creating engaging materials and messaging.
o Collaborate with existing officials to plan and undertake awareness campaigns, including national campaigns and food campaigns.
o Assist in moving the team from reactive to more proactive work by improving communication and marketing methods.
o Review and update the content of the website to ensure that it is up to date, accessible and suitable for everyone.
o Follow the Council's policies on health and safety, equality, data protection and carbon reduction.
