Key Responsibilities
1. Provide effective secretarial and administrative support to fee earners and directors.
2. Prepare correspondence, court documents, forms, file notes, proofs, and other legal documents, including audio and copy typing.
3. Open, set up, and maintain client files accurately using the firm’s case management system.
4. Manage filing, archiving, storage, and retrieval of client documents in line with office procedures.
5. Deliver a professional and courteous service to clients in person and by phone, ensuring messages are recorded and passed on promptly.
6. Arrange appointments, manage diaries, and support meeting coordination.
7. Assist with reception or switchboard cover on a rotational basis.
8. Ensure the positive representation of the practice in all interactions.
9. Attend training and departmental meetings as required.
10. Adhere to all office policies, including health & safety and compliance requirements.
About You
11. Previous experience as a Legal Secretary (family law, criminal, or private client experience advantageous).
12. Strong audio and copy typing skills – ideally 60-70 WPM with accuracy
13. Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
14. Highly organised, with the ability to manage tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
15. A professional, positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
