We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded insurance investment specialist. This is a senior sales-focused position with some potential flexibility regarding the job title.

Our clients' Insurance Solutions team has a mandate to grow both advisory and asset-based revenue with a goal to ensure that efforts in the insurance segment are well aligned to corporate and country strategies. This necessitates a clearly articulated proposition, a focused solutions and product offering and dedicated sales activity alongside excellent client service and relationship management. The strategy defines which markets and sub-segments are attractive to operate in, which insurers they work with and which products/solutions they offer. From this they align resources and coordinate activities across the organisation to offer these clients a scalable investment capability with which they can manage their asset and liability mix, manufacture, integrate or distribute our clients' funds, and access products and solutions to help them grow their business and de-risk their legacy books.

The aim is to differentiate our client through a strategic and technical understanding of the environment their clients operate in and to support them through first-class relationship management, client service, strategic partnerships and innovation.

Purpose of role


• Play a pivotal role in growing business with UK insurance clients through the delivery of a market leading product, solutions and client service proposition.

Role and Responsibilities


• Lead and drive business development activity to position our client as the leading and preferred investment solutions provider for insurers in the UK and Bermuda.


• Working with Investment Solutions colleagues, develop and execute a commercial/sales strategy for acquiring and growing insurance assets under management.


• Align the insurance investment advisory proposition with strategies for growing revenue through retainer and high value assignments.


• Ensure best practice business development activities, including client identification, opportunity origination and solution design.


• Lead client and opportunity negotiations.


• Ensure process and control environment to maintain adherence to relevant conduct principles and guidelines.


• Identify and highlight opportunities for product/solutions improvement.


• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders including Insurance Solutions, Client Service, Product, Marketing, Investments, Operations, Compliance, Finance and Legal.


• Lead/support special projects/initiatives across the business; provide guidance and peer review; act as coach/mentor to junior colleagues.


• Provide input to team development & strategy.


• Stay up to date on insurance industry themes and maintain a deep understanding of insurance client needs and requirements.


• Demonstrable track record of raising assets and/or advisory revenue from UK insurers


• Firm grasp of the underlying investment, operational and regulatory issues that determine

insurers' investment and business decision-making.


• Strong problem solving skills & ability to clearly articulate complex issues.


• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.


• Commercial awareness and confidence to effectively orchestrate outcomes through other teams and specialist groups.


• Ability to work within a team environment and operate as a mentor to junior colleagues; share ideas and present persuasive arguments.


• Administratively proficient and organised.
