Directorate: People ServicesHours: 37 hours a week Contract Type: Permanent Location: Osmaston/Allenton Family Hub/City Wide Derby City Council have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Counsellor /Therapist to work within Early Help and Children’s Social Care. This permanent position will be suitable to a Counsellor/Therapist who has experience of working with Children, Young People and Families as well as with Attachment and Trauma, and is looking to be part of a dedicated team working in the newly developed Therapeutic Hub. Based within Early Help, the Counsellor/Therapist will work closely with Children’s Social Care and external partners to provide high quality therapeutic services within a range of presentations, helping to develop coping strategies, improve overall well-being and enabling working towards positive outcomes. You will work collaboratively with the team, managers, other professionals and agencies involved in the child's, young persons or family’s life, such as social workers, educators, and healthcare providers, to ensure a holistic approach to support. You will be vigilant in identifying and responding to any safeguarding concerns, ensuring that appropriate protocols and procedures are followed to protect children and young people. Work as part of the Therapeutic Hub to assess referrals, develop resources and review the service to ensure we are meeting the needs of children, young people an families. About You To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have... Requirements for the role are: BACP - approved Diploma in Counselling, Psychotherapy or Art’s Registered and accredited with the UKCP, HCPC or BACP (or equivalent accrediting body). At least two years’ experience of working as a qualified counsellor/therapist with adults, children and young people. Further qualifications in evidence-based modalities for example, Arts/Drama/Music, Neuro affirming, Trauma informed working, CBT, Behaviour Therapy.
