What's involved with this role: Job Title: Planning Policy Officer Ref: NW Leicestershire 5276385-1 Pay rate: £24.58 to £25.65 per hour PAYE depending on experience Role length: Anticipated 2 - 3 months Working arrangements: Hybrid working with attendance in person required at the office on average once a fortnight, due to the nature of the work Additional information: May include in person attendance at evening meetings when the Local Plan is on the agenda The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Planning Policy Officer to assist with finalising regulation 19, Local Plan and responding to Local Plan consultations. You will also support the preparation of evidence base and initial drafting of Local Plan. To apply for this role, you must have previous experience as a Planning Policy Officer, including assisting with finalising Regulation 19 Local Plans and responding to Local Plan consultations. You should have up-to-date knowledge of planning legislation and policy, the ability to undertake site visits and make recommendations in line with planning requirements, and experience presenting complex planning issues clearly to Councillors and the public, both verbally and in written reports. What the client is looking for: Previous experience working as a Planning Policy Officer to assist with finalising regulation 19, Local Plan and responding to Local Plan consultations. Ability to be able to undertake site visits in order to make recommendations in accordance with planning legislation and policy. Experience of, and ability to, present and explain complex planning issues clearly to Councillors and the members of the public, both verbally and in written report form.
