We are looking for an outstanding Kitchen Assistant whos passionate about food and wants to make a difference.
Youll be working 30hours a week, (working from 8am to 6pm, 3 days a week) at Wallace Hospital, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.
Situated in a residential area of Dundee, Cygnet Wallace Hospital is a 10 bed specialist high dependency complex care service providing assessment and treatment for individuals with learning disabilities, with or without autistic spectrum disorder, as well as complex needs and behaviours.
The team at Cygnet Wallace Hospital work towards discharge from the point of admission, ensuring they work with service users to create their own pathway to the community and more independent living. The integrated care pathways ensure each individual is supported to reach their full potential.

Your day-to-day...
1. Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals
2. Perform cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
3. Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
4. Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
5. Rotate stock & put away all deliveries
6. Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
7. Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
8. Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

14. Experienced in catering, preferably within a care setting
15. The holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
16. Enthusiastic, keen to learn & an active team member
17. Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times
18. An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
19. Diligent & take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness
20. Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced PVG check.
