About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic QTS French Teacher to join our Modern Foreign Languages department. You will inspire pupils with engaging, culturally rich lessons that develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing — and prepare students for strong GCSE and A-Level outcomes where applicable.
You will:
* Plan and deliver stimulating, differentiated lessons across Key Stages 3 & 4 (KS5 experience desirable).
* Deliver language proficiency work (speaking & listening), grammar, translation and literature/culture as appropriate.
* Prepare students for GCSE and, where applicable, A-Level examinations and public assessments.
* Use assessment, data and feedback to monitor progress and close achievement gaps.
* Lead extracurricular activities that promote language use and cultural awareness (e.g., language clubs, trips, exchanges).
* Differentiate teaching for SEND and EAL students and contribute to departmental curriculum development.

About you
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong subject knowledge in French.
* Proven classroom experience with evidence of positive impact on pupil progress.
* Near-native or fluent level of French (degree, PGCE, DELF/DALF, or equivalent experience advantageous).
* Confident teaching modern language pedagogy, assessment for learning and exam technique.
* Excellent behaviour management, classroom organisation and communication skills.
* Collaborative, reflective and committed to safeguarding and raising aspirations for all students.
