Product Manager / Product Lead - Data Platform Implementation
3‑month contract
Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite, commutable from London

A university is looking for an experienced Product Manager or Product Lead to drive the implementation of a new data platform. This role will play a key part in helping the university explore, evaluate, and select the most suitable technology for their future data ecosystem.
You will lead the end‑to‑end product process, advising on best‑fit solutions, guiding internal teams through the decision‑making journey, and ensuring that recommendations align with both technical requirements and strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in product management, working closely with a range of stakeholders, gathering requirements, presenting options, and managing expectations throughout the process. You must be comfortable shaping product vision, influencing senior stakeholders, and supporting the organisation through a period of change.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the product discovery and selection process for a new data platform
* Work with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and strategic goals
* Research, assess, and present suitable technology options
* Provide clear recommendations based on business needs, feasibility, and long‑term value
* Support the university through the implementation journey
* Act as the bridge between technical teams, leadership, and end users
Key experience
* Proven background as a Product Manager or Product Lead
* Experience delivering data platform or large‑scale technology projects
* Ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups across technical and non‑technical teams
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Ability to advise, influence, and guide decision‑making
This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days per week onsite, easily commutable from London.
