Please note that with effect from 1 April, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30, and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30, per annum / £16.64 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
Paste job purpose/about the role
To undertake duties associated with the management of waste and recycling services including compliance with current legislation, monitoring and communication activities.
Main office space expected to be at Altens East Recycling & Resource facility. Work from some other office spaces in Aberdeen may be required/available too.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
1. Educated to HNC level or equivalent experience
2. Current UK driving licence
The postholder is able to demonstrate:
3. Effective communication, both orally and written, with a range of audiences
4. Working proactively and with limited direct supervision, while at the same time recognising when matters need to be referred to a more senior officer
5. Creating and implementing action plans
6. Working alone or as part of a team
7. Solving problems using initiative and creative thinking techniques
8. Interpreting and advising on legislation, policy and processes
9. Use of IT packages
10. Presentation skills
