Job Summary
We are a specialist NHS Foundation Trust providing community mental health services. We are recruiting a qualified counsellor with at least two years post‑qualification experience to deliver Person‑Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE CfD) and other IAPT modalities within a fully autonomous role. The role is Band 7; candidates not meeting essential criteria may be considered for Band 6.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver IAPT‑approved modality therapies (PCE CfD, IPT, DiT, CTfD) to clients in primary care across Kirklees.
* Assess and formulate treatment plans and provide evidence‑based interventions.
* Maintain high quality clinical service, including risk assessment and safeguarding.
* Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the team framework.
* Provide specialist risk assessment and intervention and follow appropriate protection guidelines.
* Record data and outcome measures and support service data collection and research.
* Collaborate in multidisciplinary contexts and deliver supervision and training where required.
Person Specification – Essential
* Minimum of 450 hours supervised clinical practice.
* Advanced diploma in counselling and evidence of further postgraduate training in an IAPT modality.
* Registered with a relevant professional body (UKCP, BACP, etc.).
* Experience with a range of mental health presentations and brief counselling interventions.
* Ability to carry out assessment, formulation and intervention.
* Good communication, IT literacy, record keeping and ethical knowledge.
* Safeguarding training and experience delivering supervision.
Person Specification – Desirable
* Experience in multidisciplinary clinical work and collaboration.
* Knowledge of adult and child protection legislation.
* Research skills and experience of multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Training in multiple IAPT modalities and supervisory roles.
