We are recruiting a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Psychological Therapist to join our Mental Health Team at HMP Woodhill. You will provide high quality group and individual therapies as part of an established MDT and contribute to trauma-informed pathways of care for a diverse population.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high intensity psychological therapies within an MDT setting, collaborating with nursing, psychiatry, assistant psychologists, clinical psychologists, art therapy, occupational therapy and neurodiversity practitioners.
* Work with complex needs and vulnerable service users, supporting trauma-informed care and contributing to care pathway development.
* Engage with prison staff and other partners to integrate approaches and achieve optimal outcomes.
* Participate in staff input initiatives to move services forward and improve care pathways.
* Provide supervision and contribute to CPD within CNWL CPD programmes for Psychological Professions.

Person Specification
Essential
* Doctoral level training in clinical, counselling or forensic psychology, or equivalent, with training in developmental lifespan psychology, psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology and two or more psychological therapies.
* HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist.
* Or recognised postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (BABCP accreditation or equivalent).
* Recorded/registered qualification in counselling or psychotherapy with post-accreditation qualifications in NICE-recommended therapies (e.g., CBT; EMDR).
* Accreditation with a Professional Standards Authority recognised body.
Desirable
* CPD qualifications and training in trauma presentations, research methodology, staff training, or other applied psychology fields.
* Experience with more than one psychological therapy and supervising others.
* Experience in secure settings (prison or secure hospitals) and working in multicultural contexts.
Experience
Essential
* Experience delivering psychological therapy to individuals with personality disorder, self-harm, substance misuse, and complex trauma.
* Experience in multidisciplinary settings, teaching/training, and specialist psychological assessment across care settings.
Desirable
* Experience in diverse cultural contexts, trauma-informed approaches, peer-led initiatives, multi-therapeutic approaches, and supervising others.
Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge of assessment, management and treatment models for mentally disordered offenders and related therapies.
* Ability to manage complex cases and communicate complex information effectively.
* Research methodology and data analysis knowledge relevant to clinical psychology.
Other
* Ability to teach and train others using multimedia materials.
* Ability to maintain clinical governance and work in NHS settings with high-quality care.
* Willingness to work flexibly to meet contract/commissioner needs and to work in a secure environment with appropriate clearance.
