NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.


This is a full time 37 hours per week role with the hours worked over Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm and is fixed term for 12 months.

We have a post available for a dynamic and forward thinking individual, you will be based in The Vale Centre for Health & Care, but will be required to work across West Dunbartonshire HSCP (Clydebank Health & Care Centre, Dumbarton Health Centre & The Vale Centre for Health & Care).

You should have good communications skills and possess IT skills and experience relevant for this post, you must be proficient in using NHS Patient Management Systems such as TrakCare, EMIS, SCI etc and confident in dealing with the public, staff and visitors. You will provide effective admin support to the Community Admin Team providing efficient reception/clerical support to patients, medical and nursing staff, ensuring patient referrals and appointments for clinics are administered and processed accurately and timeously to ensure the smooth running of our health centres. The post holder will be required to work across the HSCP’s three health centres (Clydebank, Dumbarton and the Vale) to ensure Community Admin provide comprehensive cover at all sites working within clearly defined protocols and procedures, adhering to policies, data protection and confidentiality.

The hours will be worked across the week in order to meet our service needs, the core hours are 8.00am – 6.00pm Monday to Friday. After initial induction, the post holder will work with minimum supervision (at times lone working) although guidance and assistance is available from Team Lead/Line manager(s).
