The Role – Commercial Director
You will oversee a portfolio of 8 projects, with responsibility for managing and developing the QS team on each scheme. You will be the commercial lead across the business as it scales, ensuring contracts are set up correctly, risks are managed, and margins are protected.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take full commercial ownership of multiple projects across the UK & Europe
* Ensure contracts are correct from the outset, mitigating risk and securing value
* Oversee and challenge monthly CVRs, knowing the facts and figures in detail
* Lead, mentor and grow the commercial/QS team
* Visit sites once per month to ensure alignment between commercial and delivery
* Drive strong commercial governance and margin protection
* Support business growth initiatives as turnover increases to £40m–£80m+
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Can hit the ground running in a fast-paced, expanding contractor environment
* Strong commercial strategist with exceptional attention to detail
* Robust work ethic with the willingness to do site hours when required
* Proven ability to build, lead and challenge a QS team
* Highly competent in contract negotiation, early-stage project setup and risk management
