Trapeze ITS UK, a leading provider of intelligent transport systems, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Financial Controller to lead and optimise our finance team and associated activities for its UK&I and international customer base.

Job Purpose
To partner with and support the General Manager; a strategic role focused on high-quality reporting, adding value to the business, and impacting results.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the General Manager and functional managers in developing business plans, priorities, and forecasts aligned with KPIs, providing financial support and monthly reports.
2. Manage a finance team including a Senior Management Accountant and Assistant Accountant.
3. Handle internal and external reporting, including group reports and statutory audits.
4. Assist project teams in focusing on key performance issues and measuring their impact.
5. Review monthly balance sheets and P&L statements.
6. Support sales with tender/bid submissions through scenario planning.
7. Lead quarterly forecasts using proprietary metrics to ensure high performance.
8. Develop inter-company relationships to align budgets and forecasts across Modaxo business units.
9. Ensure compliance with revenue recognition rules and manage related budgets and variances.
10. Prepare and review financial models and proposals for commercial decision-making.
11. Present management reports, KPIs, and variance analyses monthly.
12. Reconcile and validate balance sheet accounts using Blackline.
13. Improve finance and project systems.
14. Calculate the group bonus and complete €1m checklists for tenders/bids.
15. Champion the implementation of new finance systems and act as super-user.
16. Support audits and statutory filings.
17. Lead best practices in processes, people, and systems to improve revenue, profitability, and cash flow.
18. Implement new systems and processes for finance, expenses, and reporting.
Additional Activities (shared with other finance team members)
1. Support company-wide finance tasks as allocated.
2. Assist the finance team with daily tasks.
3. Conduct ad hoc financial analyses for management accounts.
4. Travel to international offices as required.
Personal Specification
Knowledge and Skills Required
* Professionally qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, ACMA) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
* Minimum 3 years at a Financial Controller level or equivalent.
* Strong organizational skills, experience with tight deadlines, hands-on finance approach.
* Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups, etc.).
* Deep accounting principles knowledge and experience with financial/management systems.
* Strong analytical skills and adaptability to change.
* High numeracy and ability to interpret management information.
* High computer literacy with accounting and management software.
Desirable but Not Essential
* Experience with Microsoft Great Plains or NetSuite.
* Experience with IFRS15 revenue recognition.
* Experience in multi-currency reporting environments.
