Overview
Join our team at Sodexo and play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service at Scottish Fire & Rescue, Castlemilk Fire Station, Glasgow G45 9RY. We're looking for a reliable and proactive Cleaner who is ready to make a real difference every day.
Hours: 17 hours per week. Work pattern: Monday to Saturday (6 days). Pay: £12.60 per hour. Benefits: Sodexo benefits.
Responsibilities
* Ensure complete knowledge of all areas which are to be cleaned in the course of duty.
* Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards, including weekly and period tasks.
* Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) guidelines.
* Have full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager after correct training; report immediately any equipment that is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use.
* Ensure safety signage is used appropriately at all times (e.g., wet floor signs) and warn customers where possible.
* Keep cleaning stores clean and tidy and store equipment correctly and safely at all times.
* Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by the client and Sodexo.
* Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, appearance and general cleanliness in line with statutory and Company regulations, wearing the company uniform as specified.
* Alert the Line Manager to low levels of cleaning materials so that replacements can be ordered.
* Inform the Cleaning Supervisor/GSM of potential hazards on site or infringements of Health and Safety legislation.
* Attend training courses and meetings as necessary to maintain standards and assist in carrying out the role efficiently.
* Provide cover in other areas during sickness or holidays when requested by the Line Manager.
* Keep all cleaning equipment clean and maintained in safe working order.
* Attend to any reasonable management request.
Essential
* A team player who is willing to work both indoors and outdoors.
* Reliable with a can-do attitude.
* Ability to follow work standards and schedules.
* Methodical approach with a good eye for detail.
o Previous cleaning experience
o Prior knowledge of cleaning chemicals/products
o Good customer service skills
