Overview
Rec Consult UK are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our agency team. In this role, you will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need, including those in residential homes and supported living sectors across Bridgend and surrounding areas.
Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our clients through patient care, meal preparation, and behaviour management. This position requires a commitment to supporting individuals with varying needs, including those living with autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. This could be in the home or in the community depending on the end client.
Duties
* Provide personal care and support to clients across Bridgend in the supported living/Residential setting
* Assist with daily living activities, support in the community and also including meal preparation and feeding as well as personal care.
* Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
* Perform heavy lifting as required to assist clients with mobility.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual care plans.
* Document client progress and any changes in condition accurately.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a care setting, particularly in complex needs/Supported living, is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of complex needs and learning disability practices is an advantage.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
* Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective documentation and collaboration.
