Overview
Occupational Therapist Specialist - Occupational Therapy with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This is a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in the Orthopaedic Team in the South Sector on a permanent basis. The post is a split role: 2 days providing specialist Hand Therapy within the QEUH Hand Hub and 3 days based in the Orthopaedic team in the South Sector, with a primary base potentially at Gartnavel General Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Provide hand therapy including assessment, treatment, upper limb exercises, splinting, and ongoing hand therapy as required.
* Undertake assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning for a complex and varied Orthopaedic caseload (elective and trauma).
* Be clinically responsible for rotational staff, support worker staff and students, including induction, training and daily management.
* Lead in service development and service change within the team; participate in CPD, audits and research.
* Collaborate across professions to improve the patient journey and outcomes.
* Participate in extended hours to support elective/day surgery activity.
Qualifications
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
* Significant postgraduate experience with prior clinical experience in Orthopaedics.
