Position: Catering Supervisor
Hourly pay - £13.80 per hour (approx. £29k per annum at 40 hours per week)
Shifts are between 8am - 6pm
All meals are cooked from fresh ingredients. In this role, you will understand residents' preferences and dietary needs, assisting the Chef Manager in developing menus centered around residents' health, well-being, and food preferences.
Reporting to the Chef Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Deputizing for the Chef Manager, managing all catering aspects within the location, and ensuring a high-quality catering service.
2. Supervising catering assistants on shift.
3. Ensuring compliance with food safety and health & safety procedures.
4. Minimizing waste during meal preparation and using equipment correctly.
Required knowledge & experience:
* Intermediate or Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (Catercraft or similar).
* Knowledge of health & safety legislation, including COSHH and food safety standards.
* Proven experience in chef roles and people management.
* Basic understanding of dietary requirements for older adults.
* Safe operation of kitchen equipment, including knives.
Required skills:
* Negotiation, influence, organization, and prioritization skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and produce meals based on menus.
* Flexibility, innovation, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
