What does your typical day look like?
Provide a timely and effective service to production on all webs and conveyors ensuring safety, quality, and hygiene standards are met. Perform site service checks, keep records up to date, and undertake general offline maintenance.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned web / conveyor repair / renewal
* Attend and repair webbing breakdowns on all lines
* Carry out remedial work and plan weekend activities
* Obtain prices for replacement stock and repairs
* Carry out monthly web stock count
* Carry out tracking system and roller repairs
* Carry out engineering service checks/repairs and report findings, maintain logs
* Proactively prevent webbing / conveyor failures and improve overall equipment performance by generating and implementing ideas
* Provide a service that meets food safety standards, while maintaining housekeeping and personal hygiene
* Maintain and help improve health and safety standards; ensure staff work safely by identifying and controlling risks
* Cooperate with contractors and ensure adherence to site rules, health and safety and food safety standards
* Manage general offline maintenance tasks for the site, including audits
* Undertake training to enhance skills and support front-line operations
* Provide advice and guidance to Operators on the utilization/operation of webbing
* Identify performance issues and implement pragmatic solutions with problem-solving tools
* Maximise use of available labour and skills; be flexible in work allocation within the team
* Prioritise workloads to benefit site performance
* Meet agreed deadlines and work under KPI guidance when required
Qualifications
* Level 2 NVQ – Performing Engineering Operations (or willingness to undertake)
* Good standard of education (numeracy and literacy); GCSE English & Maths or equivalent
* Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to undertake)
* Experience in a food manufacturing environment
* Experience as a Process Operator or in webbing/repairs/renewals/vulcanising (desirable)
* Experience in general factory maintenance (desirable)
* Experience using computers and software including Microsoft Word and Excel
