Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and ambitious individual to contribute to the smooth running of the companys financial operations while developing their career within a fast-paced and expanding business. About the Job The Accounts Assistant will play a key role within the finance function, supporting day-to-day accounting operations and assisting with month-end reporting. This role will involve a mix of purchase ledger processing, reconciliations, and general accounts support. The successful candidate will also assist with management accounts preparation and have the opportunity to develop broader financial skills as the business continues to grow. Key Responsibilities: Process purchase ledger invoices, ensuring accurate coding, authorisation, and timely posting to the accounting system Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly Support the credit control function, maintaining strong relationships with customers and following up on overdue payments Prepare and maintain supplier reconciliations and assist with payment runs Assist with monthly and year-end reporting requirements Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls Support ad hoc finance projects and reporting tasks as required Experience, Skills and Attributes: Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes, reconciliations, and general accounting principles Experience preparing accruals, prepayments, and assisting with management accounts would be beneficial but not essential Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar) desirable Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive approach Hours & Benefits Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time (37.5 hours per week) Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) Location: Belfast City Centre Benefits: Free on-site parking Medical insurance Career progression and professional development opportunities Skills: Invoicing Accounts Payable Bank Reconciliation
