Operational Trainer – Learning & Development
Location: Exeter & Ashburton, Devon
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday (8am–4pm or 9am–5pm, with flexibility required)
We’re excited to offer a permanent opportunity for a passionate and proactive Operational Trainer to join our Learning & Development team at Taking Care. This role is key to supporting our teams in delivering exceptional emergency response and customer care, 24/7/365.
Whether you're experienced in training and coaching or looking to start a career in Learning & Development, we’ll provide full training and support to help you thrive. We also welcome applicants interested in developing e-learning authoring skills using Articulate 360 software.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver operational training across Emergency Resolution Centre, Customer Services, and Telesales.
* Conduct training needs analysis and develop tailored training plans.
* Design and deliver engaging training materials and sessions using varied methodologies.
* Maintain accurate records in the skillset matrix and Learning Management System (LMS).
* Evaluate training effectiveness and adapt content based on feedback and performance.
* Collaborate with managers to align training with operational goals.
* Create innovative digital learning content using instructional design principles.
* Manage training logistics including scheduling, setup, and attendance tracking.
* Contribute to continuous improvement within the L&D function.
Preferred Skills & Experience
* Understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
* Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
* Experience with training software and e-learning platforms.
* Experience in working in a contact centre environment.
* Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
* CIPD Level 3 and/or Instructional Design knowledge (desirable but not essential).
* “Train the Trainer” qualification (preferred).
* Ability to motivate, adapt, and remain focused in a fast-paced environment.
* High attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
* Proven working experience with Microsoft Office packages
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in a similar role or relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential. A passion for learning and development is key.

* Occasional travel to other locations may be required.
* Role subject to Enhanced DBS and reference checks in line with our security policy.
