My client, a leading UK professional services and property consultancy group, is looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to join their growing team in Manchester. This role offers a unique split across both commercial building surveying and a specialist major loss insurance division, ideal for someone seeking variety, complex project work, and long-term development in a collaborative environment.

Commercial Building Surveying
Contract administration & refurbishment projects
Development monitoring
Corporate real estate advisory
Working within a specialist national team led by an experienced chartered surveyor with an insurance and loss-adjusting background. Project management of major and complex insurance losses
Technical reporting, defect analysis & quantum validation
Flood, fire, subsidence and impact damage
Design, specification & CA duties on reinstatement projects
80% of this side of the role is project management. Full training and support is offered, insurance experience is not essential.
Carry out inspections and provide advice on construction, maintenance and refurbishment across commercial assets
Undertake acquisition surveys, condition surveys, defect investigations and measured surveys
Manage refurbishment and reinstatement projects from inception to completion
Apply statutory legislation including CDM 2015, Building Regulations, Party Wall etc.
Deliver large projects independently with strong technical and contractual understanding
Maintain strong client relationships (no formal BD targets)
Strong technical background with experience across core building surveying services
Experience in defect diagnosis and report writing
Project delivery experience, ideally including contract administration
