These Placement Opportunities Are Open To:
* NHS healthcare professionals working in the NIHR Manchester BRC's partner NHS Trusts, including clinical or biomedical scientists
* Manchester BRC postdoctoral researchers and PhD students interested in diagnostics and translational research
* Manchester BRC project managers
Applicants must have approval from their line manager/supervisor to apply, and successful candidates must be able to begin their placement on the 19 January 2026.
To support the release of employees for the duration of the 12-week placement, employers will receive backfill funding of up to £6,000 per participant, based on the employee's current salary.
PhD students may either integrate the placement into their PhD programme, with the agreement of their supervisor, or take a formal study interruption for its duration. In both cases, they will continue to receive their stipend. If a study interruption is taken, the 12-week period will be added to the end of their PhD programme.
