New Contract Opportunity for a MoD DV Cleared Senior VCF Engineer for an exciting Outside IR35 role with a Defence SME in Somerset
* Somerset location – full-time on-site
* Must already hold MoD DV Clearance
* £625 p/d Outside IR35

What will the Senior VCF Engineer be doing?
You will act as the technical engineering lead for deploying and operating a high-assurance VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.x private cloud, extending our clients’ existing private cloud patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
* VCF 9.x orchestration: Lead deployment of Management and Workload Domains using SDDC Manager, VCF Operations, and Cloud Builder.
* NSX networking & security: Design advanced virtual networking, including Tier-0/Tier-1 routing, load balancing, and DFW micro-segmentation.
* Configure and optimise VCF Operations for monitoring, logging, and automation.
* Integrate NetApp ONTAP for performance and resilience.
* Manage patching and upgrades across ESXi, vCenter, NSX, and Aria to maintain continuous compliance.
* Secure authentication across all management planes in a high-assurance environment.
The Senior VCF Engineer Should Have…
* Active security clearance at MoD DV level – due to the nature of the client and role, we can only consider candidates who hold a British passport.
* Be willing to work full-time on client site in Somerset
Essential Skills Required:
* Expert knowledge of VMware VCF (v8.x/9.x), including SDDC Manager and multi-site/multi-cluster designs.
* Strong NSX expertise, focused on secure networking and overlay–underlay integration.
* Proficient in Aria Operations, Aria Operations for Logs, and Aria Automation.
* Experience working in UK high-security environments (MOD, government, or critical national infrastructure).
