Learning Support Assistant - Autism Specialist

We are delighted to be supporting a specialist SEND school in Stockton who are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team.
This full-time role involves working with students aged 16-19 years who have a diagnosis of Autism. You'll play a key part in supporting their learning, emotional wellbeing, and daily routines-both in lessons and during quieter times throughout the day.
For the right candidate, this position has the potential to become permanent .
Your Role
* Provide tailored learning support to students with Autism, both 1:1 and in small groups
* Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and independence
* Support behaviour regulation and encourage emotional wellbeing
* Assist with personal care where required
* Occasionally accompany learners during community-based learning activities
* Collaborate with teaching staff and therapists to ensure holistic support
About You
* Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people
* Understanding of Autism and a genuine interest in supporting learners with SEND
* Flexible, caring, and committed to inclusion
* Right to work in the UK (please note, sponsorship is not available)
* Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS on the Update Service
* Able to provide two professional references
