About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting an experienced and driven Logistics and Warehouse Manager to lead a central warehouse and logistics operation based in Stoke‑On‑Trent, Staffordshire. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, accurate, and safe handling of all goods in and out of the business, including customer returns and shipping activities. You will play a key role in developing best‑class logistics practices, managing internal teams and third‑party logistics providers, and ensuring full operational and commercial control of both internal and off‑site warehousing.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
* Oversee all goods in and goods out processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with quality standards.
* Manage the packing and dispatch of spare parts, ensuring high levels of customer service.
* Coordinate the handling and resolution of customer returns in collaboration with internal departments.
* Lead stock control activities including stock takes, cycle counts, and reconciliation investigations.
* Work closely with the Finance team to monitor and reduce stock obsolescence and overall stock value.
* Continuously improve warehouse layout, racking systems, and inventory management processes.
Logistics Management
* Manage both domestic and international shipping operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant export/import regulations.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with external logistics providers, ensuring service levels, cost‑effectiveness, and reliability.
* Oversee off‑site warehousing operations, ensuring optimal space utilisation and profitability of customer cross‑charged storage.
Team Leadership
* Lead, coach, and develop a small warehouse team, including team leaders, to foster a high‑performance culture.
* Set clear objectives and KPIs, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback and support.
* Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Compliance and Health and Safety
* Develop and implement robust processes and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and traceability.
* Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and internal standards.
* Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions as required.
* Maintain accurate documentation for audits and internal reviews.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in warehouse and logistics management within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
* Strong understanding of international shipping, customs documentation, and regulatory compliance.
* Demonstrated ability to improve warehouse processes and systems.
* Proficiency with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
* Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
* Commercial awareness, particularly in third‑party logistics, storage cost control, and stock valuation.
Desirable
* IOSH or NEBOSH Health and Safety certification.
* Have a CPC or logistics‑related qualification.
* Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
