Summary
of the Role
Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager, be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete sets of accounts for sites in development, under construction and those that have become operational.
Duties and responsibilities
Management Information
1. Produce comprehensive financial and commercial information in a timely manner
2. Prepare all analysis required together with comparatives to budgets / forecasts
3. Ensure all underlying accounting records are maintained in accordance with best practice
4. Continually evaluate and evolve procedures and controls to ensure transactions are processed accurately and efficiently
Budgets & Forecasts
5. Work with other members of the finance team and internal business partners to ensure accurate budgets and forecasts are produced and maintained for the local companies under management
Payroll
6. Check payroll information provided by the payroll bureau
7. Perform adequate checks to ensure the payroll has been correctly calculated
8. Post payroll journals
9. Ensure all payroll associated payments such as PAYE, NIC, pensions and World Vision are accurate and paid on time
VAT, EC Sales List and Intrastats
10. Ensure processes are in place and adhered to in order to capture accurately all data required to complete VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and Intrastats
11. Complete and submit VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and Intrastats by the required date and ensure any payments are made on time
12. Register new companies for VAT
13. Liaise with HMRC/local tax authorities as required
New Companies
14. Perform day to day transactions whilst establishing procedures to be followed for any new companies incorporated
Statutory Accounts and Audit
15. Assist the Senior Finance Manager in preparing year end statutory accounts for Lightsource bp subsidiaries
16. Assist the Senior Finance Manager in preparing all schedules and supporting information required for the audit of the year end statutory accounts and the preparation of corporation tax computations
17. Liaise with the external auditors and other third parties (e.g. owners, lenders) as required
Work Skills & Experience
18. Qualified accountant with 1 to 2 years PQE
19. Ability to produce management accounts and analysis
20. Good understanding of VAT

21. Ability to organise work load and prioritise to maximum effect
22. Flexible approach in a fast-paced business which is constantly changing, keep a clear head under pressure
23. Excellent attention to detail when checking information with an ability to recognise and question anomalies
24. Accurate data input essential
25. Keen problem solver who can focus on appropriate detail when solving problems and propose effective solutions
26. Set high standards of performance
27. Ability to pick up systems and processes quickly
28. Demonstrate excellent MS Excel skills
29. Strong communication and relationship building skills
30. Positive can-do attitude, ability to maintain a positive attitude in demanding situations
31. Work effectively as part of a team, share information with relevant parties, non-precious attitude
32. Willingness to take on a variety of duties as required
