About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join our fantastic Fostering service. We are looking for an
enthusiastic and committed worker to apply for the role as Training Development Officer. It would be helpful to have an understanding of the training and support needs of foster carers, caring for vulnerable and sometimes challenging children in care. of all ages. You will have experienced in working in a collaborative, professional and respectful manner. You will have good IT skills and an ability to collate information and data in order to inform future practice. You will be aspirational for LCC Foster Service and our reputation.
The role is FULL TIME, PERMANENT POST, GRADE 10, though applications will be considered on a job share basis.

About You
To apply for this post, you must:
1. Identify the training and development needs of Foster carers and Supported Lodgings hosts through regular consultation with the carers, trainers, internal departments and agencies.
2. Commission suitable and appropriate training within the budget.
3. Create ways to encourage carers to engage and access training to develop their skills, including 1 to 1 support, locality group meetings and home visits where required.
4. Monitor the quality and effectiveness of training packages and produce the annual training program
5. Maintain accurate electronic records of training and ensure training activity is recorded on mosaic, and provide data for the annual report.
6. Complete actions within timescales, problem-solving, and liaising with management, social workers, carers and independent fostering agencies to ensure efficient and timely delivery of project objectives.
7. Participate in meetings with staff and other professionals to respond appropriately and flexibly to national, regional and local drivers that meet the needs of vulnerable children, young people and families.
