Job Title: Interim Director of Commissioning
Location: East London-based Local Authority
Pay Rate: £850 per day (Umbrella)
Contract Length: 6-month initial contract with scope to extend
Working Pattern: Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week onsite)

An East London-based Local Authority is urgently seeking an Interim Director of Commissioning to lead, shape, and deliver cutting-edge, person-centred commissioning strategies across Health and Adult Social Care services.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership across integrated health and adult social care commissioning services.
Drive transformation and improvements aligned with national priorities and local needs.
Lead the integrated commissioning team and manage pooled budgets under partnership frameworks.
Work closely with NHS partners, local care providers, and stakeholders to co-design and commission innovative, high-impact services.
Ensure commissioned services deliver measurable outcomes, value for money, and compliance with statutory duties.
Represent the authority in local and regional health and wellbeing boards and lead borough-wide strategic initiatives.✅ Requirements:
Extensive senior leadership experience within Local Authority or NHS commissioning.
Proven track record managing integrated commissioning services across health and adult social care.
Strong knowledge of statutory frameworks, partnership working, and strategic service development.
Expertise in managing large-scale budgets, including pooled funding arrangements.
