Medivet Carterton is seeking an RVN to join their team on a full-time basis, working 40 hours per week with either: 1:6 full weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or 1:3 Saturdays at our Woodstock 24 Hour hospital.
Carterton is managed by experienced Branch Partner Will, along with two vets and a graduate. The team includes other RVNs, VCAs, CCAs, and the Practice Manager, providing strong support in this role.
The practice is well-equipped with laparoscopic equipment, ultrasound, and soon-to-be-added dental x-ray. It features two theatres, an imaging room, a large prep area, separate cat and dog wards, parking, and a large garden.
Laparoscopic surgeries and some orthopaedic work are performed at Carterton.

Responsibilities
Client care:
* Deliver exceptional care to clients every day.
Patient care:
* Support the vet with operations and procedures as required.
* Carry out nurse-led appointments.
* Monitor and care for patients.
* Manage admissions and discharges for procedures, as directed by the Vet or Lead Vet.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
* Ensure all pre- and post-operation activities are completed.
* Provide daily care for patients, including walking, toileting, and feeding.
* Coordinate patient transfers to out-of-hours care providers or for enhanced care.
* Dispense and check medications, under guidance from the Vet/Lead Vet, in line with clinical competence.
Standards and Compliance:
* Ensure clinical compliance with all regulatory and practice standards.
* Adhere to health and safety requirements.
Commercial performance:
* Promote nurse-led appointments to enhance patient care and clinic capacity.
Communications:
* Hold daily briefings and coordinate team activities for effective clinic operation.
Clinical administration:
* Take samples as directed by the Vet/Lead Vet.
* Package and send lab tests.
* Manage stock effectively, including rotation and out-of-date products.
* Report issues to the Practice Manager and/or Vet/Lead Vet.
* Prepare the back of house for procedures.
Skills, knowledge, and experience
* Must be an RCVS registered nurse.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Support nurse consultations and understand their contribution to clinic performance.
* Deliver exceptional client care.
* Use coaching and influencing skills to support colleagues.
