Production Engineer

Overview
A well-established UK-based engineering manufacturer is seeking a Production Engineer to join its growing team. Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, you’ll play a key role in enhancing machining processes, improving efficiency on the shop floor, and supporting ongoing development across production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, optimise, and maintain CNC programs using Hypermill CAD/CAM software.
Work collaboratively with machinists and suppliers to refine tooling strategies and machining methods.
Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and tooling solutions to support efficient production flow.
Review component routings and manufacturing methods to identify and drive process improvements.
Support training and development initiatives, including machine setup guidance and apprentice mentoring.
Assess and coordinate machining subcontractors, ensuring quality, capability, and delivery performance.
Contribute to layout planning, equipment maintenance schedules, and risk assessments.
Lead and support Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Provide hands-on machine cover when required to maintain production continuity.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve technical or production issues.

Familiarity with ISO9001:2015 quality management principles (desirable).
