Overview:
Lutron Electronics has an immediate opening for a Materials Assistant to join our team at the Lutron Warehouse facility in London.
You will build a career with a high-tech company working in a hands-on environment. You will have the opportunity to cross train in various departments while performing a wide range of duties to support our engineering, manufacturing, assembly, quality, material handling and packaging operations.
Responsibilities:
Receiving & Put-Away:
* Receive and process incoming materials from both internal warehouse transfers and external suppliers.
* Cross-reference items in JD Edwards (E1) and set up new items in Item Branch.
* Establish and manage Master Locations, Location Profiles, staging, and zoning based on dimension and characteristic groups.
Work Order Management & Scheduling:
* Schedule daily/weekly work orders for production operators.
* Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to reschedule or expedite production based on demand.
* Provide hands-on support to production assembly and buddy-check colorization for training and QA purposes.
* Schedule Preventative maintenance for facility equipment
Cycle Counting & Inventory Control:
* Run reports (Cognos, Showcase) to identify items for cycle counts and perform stock reviews.
* Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies; log data in EA Data Log/Metrics.
Other Key Tasks:
* Regularly review and update production workstation visual aids and process documents.
* Handle product serialization for designated product lines.
* Reclassify, scrap, and return materials based on stock condition and scrap memos.
* Troubleshoot issues related to testing tolerances, production errors, expedited orders, and shipping discrepancies.
* Process improvement on production assembly line.
* Support assembly lines with checks / Equipment Testing/ to meet Lutron standards for quality.
Qualifications:
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in a production planning/scheduling role, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
* Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards E1.
* Familiarity with BOMs, work orders, serialization, and custom manufacturing.
* Experience with barcode systems and label printing.
Skills
* Proven organizational and multitasking abilities.
* Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
* Experience with Cognos, Showcase, and Jira tools.
* Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
* Basic technical understanding of electrical components and assembly.
