Here at JELD-WEN UK, a global organisation that produces and manufactures Doors and Doorsets, we’re looking for an EHS Manager on a fixed term contract basis to join our Sheffield organisation, supporting in the continued operations onsite during our site move project.
JELD-WEN Sheffield – currently located on the Retford Road, but soon to be relocating to a new facility, a modern design with sustainability features and excellent transport links at Bessemer Park.

You will be enthusiastic, and passionate about the human, commercial and environmental aspects of health and safety and able to motivate managers and drive change. You will have functional and technical knowledge in EHS performance and management controls enabling you to assign responsibility for tasks and decisions, monitor process, progress, and results.
We are looking for a powerful influencer to support decision making based on facts, with a hands‑on approach to the delivery of our Sheffield EHS Strategy.
We offer 4 days out of 5 onsite, a fixed term contract until the end of 2026, a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave, 7.5% pension and private health insurance (BUPA).
What your impact will be:
* Responsible for the EHS Management of Sheffield.
* Ensure effective distribution of EHS resources across the site to meet business demands.
* Plan, implement, coordinate programmes to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illness and claims by showing due diligence around environmental impacts.
* Assist and support personnel in safety and environmental hazard assessment including the implementation of effective control measures.
* Provide up to date advice and guidance to the management team on legal compliance, best practice, strategy implementation and industry standards.
* Assist and support the management team on environmental permits for associated areas.
* Ensure compliance with company management and ISO accreditations, ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 where appropriate.
* Lead contact for liaison and interaction with enforcing authorities.
* Lead contact for customer in area of responsibility relating to EHS.
* Compile and evaluate incident statistics to identify patterns and trends to target risk reduction and monitor effectiveness of EHS strategy.
* Develop and deliver new and refresher in house training programmes.
* Compile EHS performance reports for Sheffield.
* Liaising with enforcing authorities in area of responsibility.
* Attend and facilities EHS meetings onsite in Sheffield.
* Live the JELD-WEN values and drive a positive EHS culture.
What you'll need to succeed:
* Previous EHS experience working in a manufacturing environment or similar industry in an EHS Management role.
* Professional qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management - NEBOSH Diploma or country specific equivalent.
* A proven track record of successful delivery of HSE processes, policies and initiatives resulting in improved standards and behavioural change, with the ability to adopt a strategic approach.
* Proficient IT skills, presenting skills, report writing, statistical analysis and development of training packages.
* Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
