Pearson Whiffin Education are working on behalf of a Secondary School in Canterbury to find an SEND Teaching Assistant for a 1:1 role starting immediately in December 2025 and likely ongoing beyond Christmas.
The successful candidate will have experience working with classes in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 ranging from ages 11 – 16. You will be supporting SEND and SEMH students either on a 1:1 or group basis as directed by classroom teaching staff. Experience in working with SEND or SEMH students is desirable but not essential as some training will be offered.
This role is based in a secondary school and so experience working in a similar setting will be beneficial.
Requirements for this role are as follows:
1. Experience working as a teaching assistant in a UK Secondary school
2. Ability to showcase excellent behaviour management strategies
3. Live within easy access to the Canterbury area
4. Have an enhanced DBS on the update service
5. Be able to assist the class teacher working with SEND young people
6. Confident working 1:1 and within small groups of young people
