Accountant / Bookkeeper

The Role
They are seeking a dynamic and conscientious Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their dedicated team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys hands-on financial work, welcomes variety, and thrives in a collaborative, purpose-driven setting. You will play a key role in managing financial processes and helping improve operational efficiency.
While regular in-office presence is required at their Hawkhurst location for at least two mornings per week, some flexibility to work additional hours is available.
Your responsibilities include ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organisation.
Key Duties Include
* Creating and issuing client invoices accurately and efficiently
* Maintaining detailed financial records and ledgers
* Managing VAT submissions and corporation tax filings
* Conducting day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero and related platforms
* Identifying and implementing improvements to accounting processes
* Participating as a positive member of a small, caring, high-trust team
Skills and Qualifications
* AAT Level 4, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent qualification
* Experience in a finance or bookkeeping role, preferably with small team oversight
* Proficiency in cloud-based accounting platforms, especially Xero
* Strong attention to detail and a solutions-oriented approach
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
* Friendly, confident communicator who works well in a team
Work Pattern and Flexibility
* Minimum commitment of 2 mornings per week on-site in Hawkhurst
* Potential for additional hours based on availability and interest
