Ensure our drivers are managed effectivley and given all the support to acheive buisness goals.
The purpose of this role is to ensure the day to day operations within their nominated sites are effectively and efficiently managed. The post holder is to record, monitor and report where appropriate to their Line Manager any areas identified below within the individuals Terms of Reference where areas of best practice exists or where there is a requirement for improvement.
How you create impact
1. Monitor and ensure all training, especially mandated training requirements for the business stream is achieved in line with DE&S and LS requirements. Ensure all training is recorded & records updated.
2. Ensure all areas in your control remain compliant and within EU and UK Transport legislation, assist with the management of driver’s hours to ensure drivers take all their appropriate breaks.
3. Perform regular paperwork checks on DG Notes, VURs, fuel cards, Toll Cards and tasking sheets to name a few. Plan regular checks to ensure it becomes a known requirement.
4. To directly manage a team of SZ3 drivers and to report directly to Line Manager.
5. Regular tacho analysis to take place and all infringements to be recorded and notified to the Regional Managers for appropriate action to be taken. Drivers are also to be notified real time as well
6. Will act as the Duty Officer and assist with any driver/operational requirement and act as the single point of contact with the Transport Planners.
7. Responsible for ensuring the drivers receive their tasking orders and briefs/debriefs in a timely manner. Must ensure all appropriate details are also available.
8. Ensure all vehicles in their area of responsibility are in a clean and presentable condition.
9. Conduct and record regular PPE/ADR and licence checks and report any defects or non-compliances to both the responsible driver and regional manager.
10. Ensure all leave, sick and training days are recorded and are inputted onto HRMS as and when absences occur. There must be a method of recording to aid with any audits that may be conducted. Conduct Welcome back Discussions in accordance with the Policy Rules Guidance with individuals on return from any sick absence. Escalate when appropriate to own Line Manager.
11. Maintain Contact with Central Munitions Transport Control (CMTC) providing vehicle availability information to be with CMTC by 1200hrs Wednesday 8 working day prior to the working week that tasks are to be carried out.
