Job Description
Company Overview:
Qioptiq designs and manufactures market leading Optronic solutions for Defense & Aerospace applications. Key markets include head up displays for commercial airliners, helmet mounted displays for 4th & 5th generation fast jet platforms, night vision for the dismounted soldier, and advanced electro-optics for airborne, maritime and vehicle platforms. Our diverse product range is enabled by the development and application of innovative technologies and engineering solutions.
Job Outline
To provide accurate and efficient manufacturing plans, to achieve agreed output requirements, accounting for current status, opportunities and limitations of contributing resources. To regularly update to reflect ever changing requirements and conditions.
Main Duties
* Understand the general principles of capacity planning and interpret capacity graphs; understand and action requirements and findings from capacity reviews.
* Utilise capacity data to plan within a finite timescale, prioritise jobs and create work schedules to achieve the master schedule requirements, optimise manufacturing efficiency and costs; monitor key manufacturing processes for capacity and demand, identify constraints and provide analysis.
* Lead capacity reviews; edit, create and amend all work centre data; understand the impacts of changes; highlight issues and understand basic principles behind available capacity calculations.
* Monitor progress to agreed plans through meeting forums and direct liaison; determine suitable corrections to achieve the Master Production Schedule; control and maintain internal Works Orders (including re-scheduling) to achieve MPS requirements with achievable dates and lead times.
* Evaluate through audit and formal review the condition of issued work in progress (slow moving, accuracy of feedback reporting, resolution of transactional queries).
* Derive and provide standard and bespoke status reports in suitable formats based on AX data, as required.
Personal Specification
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a good level of general education, (at least Grade “C” or above at GCSE level or equivalent) and be PC literate with a full working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook. In addition to a positive outlook and a ‘can do’ attitude, the following attributes are required:
* Operations Planning or similar experience
* Ability to work under pressure
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation
